Art Galleries, Classes, Concerts, and Events! The Floyd Center for the Arts mission is to facilitate and showcase artistic endeavors and creativity and to provide education in arts throughout the community and region! Hotel Floyd sponsors a Floyd Center for the Arts Gallery located across from the front desk. Mabry Mill

Explore the historic Mabry Mill, perhaps the most iconic structure on the entire Blue Ridge Parkway. Experience live milling demonstrations, as this gristmill still grinds flour more than a century since its original construction! See the nearby Matthews Cabin, blacksmith shop and interpretive area. Here, National Park Service staff conducts demonstrations on blacksmithing, carding, spinning, basket making and other traditional Appalachian crafts. On Sundays throughout the summer, local folk and mountain music performers appear live here as well!

Saturday mornings in downtown Floyd, VA underneath the pavilion, 10:00 am - 2:00pm, May through November. Rocky Knob is located at Milepost 167 -174 on the Blue Ridge Parkway. It consists of 4,800 acres and 15 miles of hiking trails. The Rock Castle Gorge is located within Rocky Knob. Hiking, camping, and picnics are all popular activities.

Great Oaks is an exciting 18 hole regulation course located at the Great Oaks Country Club facility in Floyd, VA. From the longest tees it offers 6,437 yards of golf for a par of 72. The course was designed by Gene Hamm and opened in 1967. The course rating is 70.8 with a slope rating of 124.
